Nottinghamshire seek title sponsor for Trent Bridge
CricInfo - 25 October 2001

First it was the Foster's Oval, then it became the AMP Oval. Headingley was briefly Bass Headingley. Gloucestershire's headquarters is officially, if not snappily, dubbed The Royal and Sun Alliance County Ground. Now Nottinghamshire are trying to get in on the act of adding a sponsor's title to what many regard as the most civilised of English Test venues.

Chief executive David Collier has admitted: "It might take a bit of getting used to but I don't anticipate any negative feedback."

What sort of feedback there is might depend on the identity of any sponsor. A name that does not fit in with the dignified air of historic Trent Bridge is unlikely to find common usage, despite the fact that a six-figure sum is being sought.
