Warwickshire sign Pollock for 2002 Media Release - 31 October 2001
The Club is delighted to announce that current South African team captain, Shaun Pollock will be joining Warwickshire for the 2002 cricket season as their overseas player. Shaun, who had previously spent a season with the Bears in 1996, has agreed terms which will see him at Edgbaston throughout next summer. Warwickshire's Chief Executive, Dennis Amiss, said: "It is great news for Warwickshire that we have been able to secure the services of one of the greatest all rounders in world cricket today, and his international commitments with South Africa are such that he will be available for us from mid April to mid September 2002." Shaun will be remembered by many Warwickshire supporters for his amazing four wickets in four balls performance against Leicestershire in the Benson & Hedges Cup in 1996. After signing his contract for 2002 Shaun said: "I am looking forward to the prospect of playing for the Bears again next year, and I believe that I have substantially more to offer to the Club, to the captain, and to the team than I did six years ago." © Warwickshire CCC
