Parore axed from New Zealand one-day squad
Wisden CricInfo staff - September 6, 2001

AUCKLAND (Reuters) - New Zealand wicketkeeper Adam Parore has been axed from the team to play three one-day matches against Pakistan later this month. Parore has been replaced in the one-day touring side by Wellington's Chris Nevin, with the chairman of selectors Sir Richard Hadlee saying that his panel wished to check on the form of Nevin, who is currently playing with the New Zealand A side in India.

Parore's form was poor during the recent Coca-Cola Cup one-day series in Sri Lanka, where New Zealand failed to reach the final of the three-nation competition which also included India.

Grant Bradburn has also been omitted from the team that played in Sri Lanka. His place in the 14-man squad has gone to allrounder Glen Sulzberger, who was in the New Zealand one-day squad in South Africa last season before getting injured.

His right-arm offbreaks proved successful in the recent Buchi Babu winning New Zealand A team.

The first one-day international is at Karachi on September 19.

The three one-dayers are followed by three Tests and the New Zealand Test squad will be announced on September 10.

The full squad: Stephen Fleming (captain), Nathan Astle, James Franklin, Chris Harris, Craig McMillan, Kyle Mills, Chris Nevin, Dion Nash, Jacob Oram, Mathew Sinclair, Glen Sulzberger, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori, Lou Vincent.
