PCB meeting on New Zealand tour arrangements and related matters Pakistan Cricket Board - 8 September 2001
A high level meeting was held at PCB headquarters, Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Saturday, under the Chairmanship of Lt Gen Tauqir Zia, to discuss the arrangements of the matches against New Zealand at various centres in Pakistan. The organisation of all the One dayers, Test and other matches have been assigned by the PCB to the respective local District Associations with the complete administrative control in their hands, and have already signed MOU?s with them in this regard. Chairman directed the officials to spare no effort in making top class arrangements in all respects including the media facilities at all centres. He instructed that due care be taken to arrange smooth handling of all visitors to the matches, especially genuine ticket holders at the entry points and other areas. The must also be provided all proper and due conveniences. He also instructed that all former Test Cricketers be invited to the One day and Test Matches at various centres by PCB and given due respect and recognition. Manager Infrastructure development presented the progress of development of grounds and stadiums being undertaken as part of Vision-2005. Jalaluddin was called in to discuss the programme of coaching. PCB plans to have a coach for each district besides training a number of coaches for top level. Meeting also discussed bi-monthly publication under the name of Pakistan Cricket Magazine which will be published by PCB shortly. The Chairman PCB also presided over a meeting of the members of the National Selection Committee attended by all selectors. The schedule of domestic cricket was given to them to monitor matches and find out talented players. The meeting also discussed the formulation of teams for the side matches. The Finance and Marketing Committee meeting was also chaired by the Chairman PCB to assess progress of sponsorships for New Zealand Tour and the domestic season. Also discussed in it were pay and allowances of the various appointment holders. Legal experts discussed the progress of PCB Constitution with the Chairman PCB at another meeting and would submit draft on 14 September 2001, after carrying out necessary amendments as discussed during the meeting.
