Vincent and Hart to join TelstraClear Black Caps in Pakistan
New Zealand Cricket - 16 April 2002

Lou Vincent has recovered well from the lung injury he sustained during the third Test of the National Bank Series against England in Auckland, and will fly out on Thursday (April 18) to join the TelstraClear Black Caps in Pakistan.

The injury to wicket-keeper Chris Nevin, who strained his hamstring while practising prior to last night's one-day match against Pakistan, has meant Robbie Hart will be joining the squad earlier than expected.

Hart was originally scheduled to join the squad on April 23 for the Test series in Pakistan, but will now fly out with Vincent to join the squad before the one-dayers.

"It was always our stated intention to have Lou join the squad as soon as he was fit. Chris Nevin's injury has meant Robbie Hart, who was to join the squad for Test series, will now get to Pakistan earlier and become a wicket-keeping option for the one-dayers," said Chairman of Selectors Sir Richard Hadlee.

At this stage no decision had been made on when Chris Nevin or Mathew Sinclair, who has been covering for Vincent, will be returning to New Zealand.
