Dwan joins ICC secondment scheme from New Zealand Cricket
ICC Media Release - 17 April 2002

Peter Dwan, New Zealand Cricket's Marketing Manager, joined the ICC's secondment scheme on Monday 15th April. Dwan will be based in Monaco with the commercial arm of cricket's international governing body.

ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed welcomed the addition of Peter to the ICC: "Peter has been a key player in New Zealand Cricket's recent success in developing its business across a number of different areas. I am delighted that he has joined us for this period and I am confident that he will make a valuable contribution to ICC's commercial activities"

During his six month secondment Peter will be involved in a number of strategic planning projects aimed at establishing international cricket at the forefront of the world sports market. This will include the further development of plans for the marketing of international cricket and its events such as the ICC Cricket World Cup and other commercial properties.

Peter will also be looking to establish an ICC Official Supplier Programme. "The opportunity to be a part of the ICC at such an exciting and formative period of its evolution is a tremendous challenge and a fascinating opportunity. All of us involved in the game have seen the significant steps forward made by the ICC over the last 18 months or so as it moves to become a strong credible body for our game," he said.

Dwan has been at New Zealand Cricket for three and a half years. As Marketing Manager, he is responsible for operations ranging from the recent agreement with a new domestic sponsor and introduction of a new host broadcaster to the commercial aspects of events such as the Women's World Cup and the ICC Under 19 World Cup both of which have recently been hosted by NZ Cricket.
