C&G Trophy semi-final re-scheduled
Media Release - 2 August 2002

The Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy semi-final match between Yorkshire and Surrey, scheduled for Wednesday 31 July and with two subsequent reserve days, could not be completed due to adverse weather conditions in Leeds.

With the agreement of both sides, the ECB has decided that the game should be re-played on Sunday 4 August at Headingley, start time 10.45pm.

The ECB does not usually create extra reserve days for cup games, but in the circumstances, with so much time before the Final at Lord's on Saturday 31 August and with both teams available to play on Sunday, it was considered a better option than concluding the tie with a bowl-out. If the weather prevents any play on Sunday, however, a bowl-out will be conducted.

Tickets purchased for the originally-scheduled days play will remain valid for the match on Sunday. Those already with tickets who are unable to attend on Sunday will be entitled to a refund. Tickets are available at £16 for adults and £8 for OAPs and under 16s.

The match will not be televised live by Channel 4. There will be ball-by-ball coverage on BBC Radio 4 LW.
