Australian Test and one-day international vice-captain Adam Gilchrist hosts season 2001-02's last MILO Cricket Superclinic tomorrow (14 August) in his home state of Western Australia.
Nearly 200 children will take part in the MILO Cricket Superclinic at Ellenbrook Primary School in Perth, learning tips and basic cricket skills from one of Australia's finest players.
Boys and girls from grade four to year seven at Ellenbrook, St Helena and Coolamon Primary Schools will join Gilchrist for the sessions of modified games and skill-building activities.
Gilchrist, who joined the MILO Cricket program as a presenter this year, said he was excited about coaching the youngsters in his home state.
"As a kid, I would have jumped at the chance to participate in these sorts of programs," Gilchrist said.
"Given that the clinics are tailored to each child's age and physical development, they have the opportunity to really hone their skills.
"The MILO Cricket programs have been a great success over the past 12 months and I am looking forward to the grand finale in Western Australia."
Eight MILO Cricket Superclinics are held annually in each Australian state and territory. Gilchrist is one of six Australian players who have presented at the Superclinics in 2001-02, sharing the coaching duties with Belinda Clark, Jason Gillespie, Matthew Hayden, Julia Price and Karen Rolton.
Southern Stars all-rounder and Western Fury vice-captain Avril Fahey will join Gilchrist as a special presenter at tomorrow's clinic.
The MILO Cricket Superclinics are part of the Australian Cricket Board's (ACB) junior development program, which takes the game to more than half a million young Australians each year.
The junior development program also includes:
