Top-of-the-ladder Scorpions name 12 to play Vic
South Australian Cricket Association - 24 December 2002

The South Australian Women's Cricket Association has named an unchanged team of 12 to play Victoria this weekend on Punt Road Oval in Melbourne.

The Scorpions are sitting on the top of the points table going into their last round, with a three point lead over the NSW Blues.

With one round to go for the Scorpions a win in both games against Victoria, will see the South Australians host the National League final in Adelaide in January.

Scorpion's captain and Australian squad member Karen Rolton leads the run-scoring for the season, with an impressive average of 106.75. Rolton also is the second highest wicket-taker for the season with 10 wickets at an average of 8.80.

The Scorpions side is: Karen Rolton (c), Heather Booth (vc), Kris Britt, Lauren Ebsary, January Jackowiak, Jo-Anna Kenney, Olivia Magno, Naomi Maidment, Shelley Nitschke, Belinda Noack, Emma Sampson and Amanda Taylor.

The South Australian Cricket Association's community cricket manager, Mark Sorell, is coach of the Scorpions.
