No need to panic Wisden CricInfo staff - December 20, 2002
With the Ashes lost after just three Tests, Wisden Online caught up with Dennis Amiss, chief executive of Warwickshire County Cricket Club and asked him what went wrong and what the future holds for English cricket. On the Ashes, Amiss acknowledged that Australia have a fantastic team – especially the bowlers – and when you keep winning it's so much easier to play the positive cricket. But on an optimistic note, Amiss claimed there was no need to panic as English cricket's future was in good health with promising young players already in the England team and ones at Warwickshire like Ian Bell and Jim Troughton.
