Smith said she was thrilled to have her hard work rewarded with a call-up to the touring party.

"I am just wrapt to be given the chance to play with this side once again," Smith said.

"Playing in the Youth Series against New Zealand A was great, however it really showed me just how much I wanted to play at the senior level again.

"There is a great sense of personal satisfaction that comes from this news, as I really had to work hard to regain a spot," Smith said.

The Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars depart Melbourne for New Zealand this Monday (25 February) in control of the Rose Bowl series.

Having claimed victory over the Kiwis at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) yesterday (23 February), the Australians now hold a major advantage over its Trans-Tasman rivals ahead of the next three matches in Christchurch.

Australia leads the series 3-0, after defeating New Zealand in the opening two matches at the Adelaide Oval, and yesterday's match at the MCG.

The final three matches of the Rose Bowl series will take place at the BIL Oval in Christchurch on 2, 3 and 6 March.
