ICC seeks Communications Manager
ICC Media Release - 4 January 2002

The ICC has announced that it is advertising for its first full time communications manager as part of its plans to enhance its reputation around the world.

The organisation has been employing a part-time communications manager and communications consultancy Porter Novelli for the last two years, but is now looking to build a stronger in-house capability.

"As the governing body of a major international sport, we are naturally a very high profile organisation," said chief executive Malcolm Speed.

"Media and public interest is intense and we want to ensure that we have the right quantity and quality of resource in place to capitalise on this".

The ICC has made a number of significant announcements over the last year including the launch of the World Test Championship, the agreement of a plan to eliminate corruption and the unveiling of a new corporate identity.

It is expected that the communications manager will be responsible for building on these announcements and managing issues as they arise.

"This appointment is one of a number of additions to the ICC's senior management team," said Malcolm Speed. "We have ambitious plans for the organisation, and in order to succeed, we need a strong top team at Lord's.

The Communications Manager is an important part of this".
