Essex Junior Membership campaign reaping rewards Essex CCC Media Release - 4 January 2002
The Essex County Cricket Club Junior Membership Campaign, launched in November 2001 has seen a sharp increase in interest from juniors throughout Essex. The enterprise, which has seen the reduction of Junior Membership of Essex to just £1, has seen a 20% increase in Junior Membership with many more expected. Commercial Manager Dave Comley said: "It has been a very promising start. There is a lot of good feeling about at Essex at the moment and this particular enterprise has helped us to establish an image as the family club which is where we want to be going. "The youngsters are joining at a fantastic rate and this leads us to believe that the future may well be bright at Essex. In turn, the signing of Andy Flower and several new players along with the Junior Enterprise has created a good interest in adult Membership which, at just £85, has been seen to be remarkable value for over 40 days of cricket." The Club has also arranged entertainment for all Norwich Union League matches in 2002 including bouncy castles, live acts, competitions and, of course, cricket! © Essex CCC
