Brad Williams
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 2, 2002

Wisden overview
Brad Williams was regarded as the fastest bowler in Australia, until Brett Lee burst onto the scene. He was a raw 19-year-old when he made his debut for Victoria in 1994-95, and his full potential was only realised after a move to Western Australia in 1999. Charging to the crease with menace aforethought, he thrived on the steepling Perth pitches, and took 50 wickets in his debut season. His second season at the WACA was interrupted by elbow surgery, as well as back and groin problems, but after joining the Australian squad for the Boxing Day Test against South Africa in 2001, he earned a call-up for the one-day series that followed ... and promptly broke his thumb. His batting is at home at No. 10. Andrew Miller
