A third ton for Martyn

Damien Martyn made 104 not out, his third one-day hundred and his first against South Africa. He is playing in his 83rd match, and his 11th against South Africa.
Martyn and Ricky Ponting added 171, the highest third-wicket partnership in one-dayers at the Gabba. The previous-best was 154, by Brian Lara and Carl Hooper against Australia in 1996-97.
Ponting's 80 was his highest one-day score against South Africa, surpassing the 76 he made at Sydney in 1997-98. This is Ponting's 17th match against South Africa.
Australia's win was only their second in their last seven one-dayers on this ground. They lost five in a row between 1995-96 and 1999-2000, before beating West Indies last year.
