Pakistan recall Saqlain and Razzaq
Wisden CricInfo staff - July 4, 2002

Pakistan have recalled Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdur Razzaq for the triangular series with South Africa and Sri Lanka at cricket's newest venue in Morocco next month. Announcing the squad of 19 players, Wasim Bari, Pakistan's chief selector, said, "Saqlain and Razzaq will be joining the team in Tangiers from England where they are currently playing county cricket." The final 15-man squad will be announced in three weeks time.

Both Saqlain and Razzaq missed Pakistan's Super Challenge one-day series in Australia last month due to their engagements with Surrey and Middlesex.

In June the International Cricket Council approved Tangiers as a venue to host one-day internationals. The stadium cost $25 million and includes five pitches for matches and another seven in the practice area. If the tournament is a success, Morocco will become a frontrunner to host the Pakistan v Australia Test series in October.

Pakistan squad Saeed Anwar, Imran Nazir, Younis Khan, Inzamam-ul Haq, Yousuf Youhana, Rashid Latif, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Azhar Mahmood, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shoaib Akhtar, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Sami, Misbahul Haq, Danish Kaneria, Shahid Afridi, Faisal Iqbal, Abdur Razzaq and Taufiq Umer
