Rain denies Under 17s at Worthing
Vic Isaacs - 6 June 2002
Rain denied Hampshire Under-17s an almost certain victory over their Sussex counterparts at Worthing.
They were steaming along at 147-1 - requiring 198 runs for victory - when heavy rain forced the 50-overs per side match to be abandoned.
Liphook & Ripsley's Chris Wright (63) and Alex Richardson (51 not out) shared an opening stand of 127 to put Hampshire within sight of Sussex's 197-6 when the weather intervened.
