Somerset Under 15 Girl's team got their season off to flying start at Kingswood Scool in Bath when they scored a resounding victory over the Isle of Wight by a massive 123 runs in the ECB Girl's Under 15 League. Batting first the Somerset openers put on 87 before Steph Davies was bowled for 54. Her opening partner Liz Tilley continued with her captain Annie Riccio, until with the score on 118 she was out for 33. The captain remained unbeaten at the wicket until the end of the innings, by which time the Somerset total had reached 156 for 3, and she had scored 20. When the Isle of Wight batted they had no answer to the Somerset attack and crumbled to 33 all out, with Liz Tilley taking 2 wickets for 1 run, and Anya Shrubsole 2 wickets for 3 runs. Somerset gained the maximum 30 points from their victory, and are next in action when they play against Devon at Shobrooke Park, near Crediton on Sunday June 23rd.
