There was no question of Pakistan Fast Bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, appearing in "World's fastest bowler" competition being proposed to be held in India as reported in the press on Thursday.

A PCB spokesman said "Shoaib Akhtar is a valuable asset of Pakistan and he cannot be allowed to appear in any competition without the proper permission of Pakistan Cricket Board.

There was no question of his joining the proposed competition before the World Cup and his participation even afterwards will be subject to the approval by PCB, the spokesman added.
