Umpiring course 30 June 2002
All the Grade-I umpires on the PCB panel, who havenot so far been able to secure umpiring qualification from any recognised institution have been allowed to take part in the panel induction course examination (written and oral) being conducted by the National Umpiring Council at the Gaddafi Stadium on July 11. Similar opportunity will also be available to the Testand International umpires, who want to acquire umpiring qualification recognised by PCB, by taking oral examination at the end ofthe annual refresher courses likely to be held in August. It will provide a chance to two umpires on the ICC Panel from Pakistan, Nadeem Ghauri and Aleem Dar to get qualification certificates from the PCB. Both the umpires were selected by the PCB for the ICC Panel, despite having little international experience and without passing the PCB examination held earlier. Two chances will be available for each umpire to obtain the qualification certificate from the National Umpiring Council. © Dawn
