Notts sign Klusener for early part of season CricInfo - 8 March 2002
Lance Klusener will be Nottinghamshire's overseas player for the early part of the 2002 season. New Zealand's Chris Cairns will not get to Trent Bridge until May 8, because of international commitments in Pakistan. The agreement is contingent upon clearance from the South African board, and would ensure Klusener's availability for the Benson & Hedges Cup group matches, as well as the championship fixture against Middlesex at Lord's. Notts cricket manager Clive Rice said: "We have signed a very exciting player who is a genuine match winner. "He will be with us for the whole of the qualifying stages of the Benson & Hedges Cup and I cannot think of a better all-rounder in the world for one-day cricket."
