Rain completely washes out first day of Americas Cup Grant Dugmore - 10 March 2002
"Rain completely washed out any possibility of play on the first day of the Americas Cricket Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina yesterday. Such was the weight of the intermittent downpours, that all three scheduled fixtures were abandoned by 2.00 pm, with no hope of any play being achieved. Tournament organisers have now rescheduled the affected fixtures to be played on Monday 11 March, which was originally scheduled as a rest day. Today will hopefully see the first action of this historic event on the South American continent, as per the original fixture schedule, with Argentina taking on the United States at Hurlingham, Canada meeting Bermuda in a key game at Belgrano, and the Cayman Islands playing tournament debutants Bahamas at San Albano. Games are scheduled to start at 10h45." © Argentine Cricket Association
