Tony Munro - 15 March 2002

Full Name: Christian José Tuñon
Date of Birth: 18/06/1971
Place of Birth: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Times played for Argentina: 49
When did you make your debut for Argentina? When I was 16 vs Chile
Highest score: 55 for national team; 100* not out for club in First Division

Which countries have you played cricket in?
Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Fiji, Kenya, Malaysia, Perú and Chile.
How did you first get involved in cricket?
Basically through the school. I attended to St. Alban´s College (bilingual school), where they used to play
cricket. It was hard to get myself involved in the sport because it was soccer season. They invited me to play a Trio competition, and from then on, I never stopped.
Who had the greatest influence on your career and why?
Maurice Runnacles and Hernán Trabucco (both members of the school and club) are the very special ones.
Lots of pros such as Martin Goulding, Hugh Cann and even Monty Lynch influenced me positively. I cannot forget about Grant Dugmore, who had a positive influence in the last four years. What is the most memorable moment of your career?
ICC Trophy Canada 2001 - the game we beat Malaysia.
What is the most disappointing moment of your career?
Americas Cup Canada 2000, against USA. You have a bowling strike-rate of about once every 30 balls - what do you attribute that to?
I just try to put pressure on batsmen by bowling line and length.
Which of the younger Argentine players do you expect to stand out in the next few years?
Lucas Paterlini from my club and Paul Ferguson from Belgrano.
Which aspect of Argentina's play to you expect to make the biggest impact at the Americas Cup?
Definitely batting and fielding.
What should be done to improve the standard of cricket at the non-Test level?
I think that a great idea is to start having Test games at these countries and more competition.
What single thing would provide the greatest boost to the popularity of cricket in Argentina?
The best thing to do is to get cricket on TV.
What is the reaction of your non-cricketing Argentine friends when you tell them you play cricket?
They just cannot believe that I play a game that starts at 11 am and finishes at 6 pm.
Which batsman is most capable of dominating an attack at the non-Test international level?
Charlie Marshall, Matías Paterlini.
Who is the most difficult bowler to play at the non-Test international level?
Roland Lefebvre and James Brinkley
Which aspect of cricket at the non-Test level has most improved since the increase in the number of internationals?
Tactical awareness of how to play limited overs cricket
