Somerset Chief praises fast bowler's performance.
Richard Walsh - 18 March 2002

Chief Executive Peter Anderson was full of praise for Somerset paceman Andrew Caddick in the wake of England's victory in the first Test Match against New Zealand in Christchurch.

As he sat in his office looking out across a rain-drenched County Ground he told me: "I'm very pleased to see that Andrew Caddick put in what turned out to be a match winning performance for England in the first Test match.

"Listening to some of the Sky Television commentators you'd have thought that Andrew Caddick was the worst bowler in the world, but in the end he delivered a performance that helped to win the game.

"Andrew Caddick came up with nine wickets (9 for 172) in the match, one more than Matthew Hoggard (8 for 205), who commentators seem to think will replace him as the opening partner to Darren Gough."
