The BCCSL wishes to set the record straight with regard to the advertisement which was published on the 16th of December 2001, calling for applications for the post of Manager Sri Lanka Cricket Team.

The Interim Committee of the BCCSL at a meeting on the 11th of February 2002, took a decision that no appointment would be made to this post, since a number of newspaper articles had appeared stating that there would be a change in administration at the BCCSL, and the members of the Interim Committee were of the view that it would not be appropriate for the Interim Committee to make such a long-term appointment under these circumstances.

The Chief Executive of the BCCSL then wrote to each applicant on the 19th of February 2002, informing them of the decision.

The Interim Committee further decided that a manager be appointed for only the Asian Test Championship Final, the Sharjah Champions' Trophy, and the tour of England, as these three tours were scheduled to take place within a short time of each other.
