Pakistan Squad for Sharjah to be announced 25th March Pakistan Cricket Board - 22 March 2002
All Players called to Pakistan Training Camp for Sharjah Cup, 2002, except Inzamam-ul-Haq reported at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Friday. Inzamam-ul-Haq was due to join the camp, later in the day, as his arrival was delayed due to his father's recent heart operation, whom he had been attending in Multan. PCB had called 31 players to the camp, which also included former Pakistan Captain Moin Khan. Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, also join the camp and like all other appeared in good physical condition. His recent brief visit to Australia was reported to be in knowledge of officials and he was told to report in time for the Training camp to which he complied by returning two days earlier. Pakistan squad for the Sharjah Cup is to be announced on the morning of March 25. The probables are playing practice match on March 22nd & 23 under the watchful eyes of the selectors. On Friday, tow of the selectors, namely Shafiq Ahmed and Aaqib Javed will be present at Gaddafi Stadium to watch the matches. On Saturday March 23, Chairman of Selection Committee Wasim Bari and all the members of Selection Committee will be present at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
After the announcement of Pakistan Squad on March 25, only those selected will continue the training at the camp.
