By finally changing the playing eleven for the third and last ODI against New Zealand at Lahore on 27 April 2002, Pakistan's record run of playing the same side for most consecutive one-day internationals came to an end. Since 8 April 2002 against Sri Lanka at Sharjah to 24 April 2002, Pakistan played seven matches with the same combination. The previous record was for six games, held by South Africa in the World Cup 1999. It is also Pakistan's best stint for the same side.
