'Global cricket symposium brings together distinctive development speakers'
ICC Development (CCAM) Media Release - 28 May 2002

Toronto, Canada: The Cricket Council of the Americas (CCAM) is proud to announce the first-ever Global Cricket Development Symposium. The symposium will be held at the Hotel Royal Plaza in Orlando, Florida from July 28th through 31st, 2002. This informative three-day conference will cover innumerable aspects and best practices of cricket development. CCAM is successfully achieving its goal in expanding the awareness and availability of the sport throughout the Americas.

Topics will encompass not only development issues but also strategies to collaborate with other organizations for field space, opportunities of media and internet resources to upgrade your activities, and approaches to increase the efficiency of cricket programs to appeal to cricketers at all ages. With an exceptional line-up of dynamic cricket development experts from around the world, guest speakers include:

  • Toot Byron, Welfare Manager, Queensland Cricket Associations Ltd.
  • Andrew Eade, International Cricket Council Global Development Manager
  • Reverend Wes Hall, President of the West Indies Cricket Board
  • Keith Pont, Director of Development, England & Wales Cricket Board
  • Barrie Stuart-King, Chairman of Association of Cricket Umpires & Scorers
  • Ross Turner, General Manager Game Development – Australian Cricket Board
