Be'er Sheva 'A'; Tel Aviv continue along victory path
Israel Cricket Association - 8 May 2002

Be'er Sheva 'A' and Tel Aviv both continued their successful starts to the 2002 ICA league, recording wins over Ramle and Ashdod 'A' respectively in the second round of games played last weekend.

At the Be'er Sheva ground, the home side won the toss and chose to bat. Generous contributions from all the batsman provided a very defendable score of 256. Akiva took 5 wickets for the visitors.

Requiring a rate of over 5 to the over, the Ramle batsman were always struggling, and only one batsman, Yoel Saigauker, seemed capable of dealing with the conditions. Having come in at no. 3, Saiguaker played a chanceless innings, finishing unbeaten on 89. But with almost all the other batsman failing, Ramle could manage to just 175, giving Be'er Sheva a comfortable 81-run victory.

At Hadar Yosef, Ashdod A were bundled out for just 82 in less than 15 overs. Tel Aviv, having bowled with real discipline, reached their target easily enough, despite losing 5 wickets along the way.
