Super 8 finals
Canterbury Cricket Association - 8 November 2002

The highly successful forth term Secondary Schools Super 8 competition will come to an end with the finals of the girls' and under-15 boys' competitions being played on Wednesday, November 13, 2002.

The boys' final will feature Rangiora against St Bedes and will be played at Dudley Park in Rangiora, while the girls' final will be a tussle between Rangiora and Rangi Ruru to be played at the Hagley South Polo Grounds. Both games will start at 3pm and are expected to finish at 5pm.

The under-18 boys final was held on November 6, 2002 between Lincoln High and Kaiapoi, with Lincoln High taking away the winning honours. The scores in brief are:

Kaiapoi 119/10 (Stevens 15, Head 16; Launauze 2-33, Greenslade 2-26)
Lincoln 120/6 (Greenslade 40 no, Blake 29; Head 2-29)

Chris Greenslade scored the most runs during the entire competition with a well compiled total of 153. With a haul of 12 wickets in the competition, Tom Launauze was the most successful bowler.

The Secondary School Super 8 competition will commence again in the first term of 2003 and registrations will be called for early in the new year.
