England name twelve-man squad for Australia A match in Hobart
CricInfo - 14 November 2002

Andrew Flintoff has been named in a 12-man England squad for the match against Australia A which begins in Hobart tomorrow. The Lancashire all-rounder today had his second MRI scan of the week, to establish whether he had sustained any soft tissue damage during a bowling spell at the Bellerive Oval in preparation for tomorrow's three-day game.

Flintoff looked below full fitness during practice today, and only faced throw-downs in the nets rather than proper bowlers and had a 20-minute bowl himself when he could not reach optimum pace for the second day running.

England Coach Duncan Fletcher said: "Andrew Flintoff had an MRI scan on his injured groin this afternoon which was clear. He is available for selection and we will decide on our final eleven in the morning after we have had a look at the pitch.

"James Foster will keep wicket to ensure that he has some match-practice under his belt in case of injury to Alec Stewart."

England squad: Marcus Trescothick (capt), Michael Vaughan, Mark Butcher, Robert Key, John Crawley, Craig White, Andrew Flintoff, Alex Tudor, James Foster (w/k), Richard Dawson, Chris Silverwood, Stephen Harmison.
