CD name experienced side for season opener

Central Districts will have two wicket-keepers, Bevan Griggs and Martyn Sigley, in their side to play Otago in the opening game of the State Championship starting in Wanganui tomorrow.

With former internationals Craig Spearman and Greg Loveridge also named in the 12, it is shaping as one of the most experienced Central Districts sides for many years.

The team, selected by Basil Netten (convener), Mark Greatbatch and Scott Briasco, is: Jacob Oram (captain), Bevan Griggs, Lance Hamilton, Brent Hefford, Jamie How, Peter Ingram, Greg Loveridge, Michael Mason, Martyn Sigley, Mathew Sinclair, Craig Spearman, Glen Sulzberger.

Andrew Schwass was unavailable due to injury.
