Gilchrist out of hospital Wisden CricInfo staff - November 4, 2002
Adam Gilchrist has been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for an infected elbow. Gilchrist was hooked up to an intravenous antibiotic drip and remained in hospital overnight. But Errol Alcott, the Australian physio, said he was satisfied that the injury would not keep him out of the first Test. Gilchrist is expected to train with the squad on Wednesday morning. "It's frustrating not being able to train straight away and interrupt the build-up to the Test match but I'm working on the basis this is a frustration and nothing more," Gilchrist said. "I'm keen to get back on deck as soon as possible and my expectation at this stage is that I will be fully fit and ready to play in the Test match come Thursday morning."
