Waqar Younis has been appointed the Captain of the Pakistan team till the end of the World Cup 2003. At the same time Brig (Rtd) Khawaja Nasir has been appointed the Manager. The Vice-captain will be named later.

The Pakistan team captained by Waqar Younis is currently in Colombo to play the first test match against Australia of the Australia in Pakistan 3-Test Series which the Pakistan Cricket Board is hosting abroad due to security concerns.
