PWCC congratulates PCB Chairman
Pakistan Women's Cricket Control Association - 16 October 2002
Pakistan Women's Cricket Control Association registered under corporate law and Full Member of the International Women's Cricket Council (IWCC) is pleased and gratified to learn that President General Pervez Musharraf has declined to accept the resignation of Lt. General Tauqir Zia, Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board, reposing full confidence in him.
Lt. General Tauqir Zia has certainly worked in the larger interest of Cricket. He is the only person who has changed PCB's stance and policies to regulate women's cricket in Pakistan. With his continued presence in the high office of the Chairman PCB, the hope of women's cricket has revived and it is prayed that decision of the Scrutiny Committee will be forthcoming by the end of this month. On June 20th 2002, the Honourable Lahore High Court has already instructed PCB to determine one genuine Association out of the existing three in a transparent way within a period of 10 weeks and to regulate women's cricket in Pakistan.
Shaiza Khan,
President,
Pakistan Women's Cricket Control Association.
