From 50 to 100
Wisden CricInfo staff - October 21, 2002
In the last ten years of Ashes Tests, Australia's batsmen have made 97 scores of 50 or more; England's have managed 84. Not much difference there - but there's a gaping chasm when it comes to turning them into centuries. The elder statesmen of each side reflect the malaise: Steve Waugh has nine hundreds and 12 fifties (a conversion rate of 43%), Alec Stewart has one hundred and 10 fifties (9%).
