Zimbabwe v India 2000-01
Wisden CricInfo staff - October 8, 2002
At Bulawayo, June 27. India won by four wickets. Toss: India. With Streak sidelined by a leg injury, Whittall became Zimbabwe's third captain in three matches. And after he failed to win another important toss, they lost two wickets in the second over as India's opening bowlers enjoyed appreciable early swing. A most creditable partnership of 87 between 20-year-old Ebrahim and Wishart gave the innings substance, and allowed Flower and Whittall, the latter playing a typically improvised innings at the death, to concentrate on the scoring-rate once conditions improved. India's reply saw Ganguly rediscover his form at last, while Dravid's superb 72 not out, featuring some classical strokeplay, eased India home after Flower's left-arm spin claimed four for 12 in 19 balls. Strang, another left-armer, justified his place with immaculate seam bowling, but the loss of two world-class players in Streak and Andy Flower was too great a handicap for Zimbabwe.
Man of the Match: R. Dravid.
