Opening of Fast Track Practice Wickets and Dormitory Complex at Premadasa Stadium on 5th September

The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka invites the media to witness the soft opening of the Fast Track Practice Wickets and Dormitory Complex at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, on Thursday, 5th September 2002 at 9:30 a.m.
The Complex will be declared open by Mr. Hemaka Amarasuriya, Chairman of the Interim Committee of the BCCSL, together with other Members of the Interim Committee Mr. Anura Tennekoon, Chief Executive, Mr. Duleep Mendis, Director Development, and Mr. Bandula Warnapura, Director Cricket Operations.
The Complex includes 16 fast track practice wickets that were built at a cost of Rs. 10 million, and a dormitory that cost Rs. 17 million. The Complex is intended for the use of national squads of all age groups and for special coaching clinics that are conducted from time to time by the BCCSL. The 50-bed dormitory area, which also has conference rooms, lecture rooms, and dining areas, will significantly improve the BCCSL's ability to conduct residential coaching camps in Colombo for promising young outstation players.
