Notts try to tempt MacGill for 2003 CricInfo Staff - 4 September 2002
Nottinghamshire are in talks with Stuart MacGill which could eventuate in the Australian leg-spinner returning to Trent Bridge next season. The county hope the arrival of MacGill's wife and agent from Australia might help sway him. "Stuart has been a fantastic addition to the squad and we have wasted no time in starting to discuss the possibility of him returning next season," said the Notts Cricket Manager Mick Newell. MacGill took over from Nicky Boje as Notts' overseas player this summer, and wants to weigh up all the options before making a final decision. "I've certainly enjoyed myself immensely so far," MacGill said. "The guys here are a great bunch and to be honest, I've been enjoying my cricket over the past few weeks as much as I have at any point on the past four or five years. "But I need to carefully consider what it means to commit myself to that amount of time and cricket at this stage of my career, and at the end of the day I have to do what I think is best for me." © CricInfo Ltd.
