1996 World Cup Profile:

Paul Reiffel (Pistol to his teammates) is a nagging right-arm seam bowler, and a batsman only 1 or 2 notches below all-rounder standard. He usually bats at No.8. During last summer`s Caribbean tour, Reiffel distinguished himself with his ability to bowl an awkward line to the left- handers, getting the ball to pitch around leg-stump and cut away towards slips. Reiffel`s naturally laid-back personality tends to disguise his athleticism. However, Reiffel does tend to have problems with no-balling, and has demonstrated that he can be less threatening on pitches with little movement. The subcontinent should be a challenge to him, but he has done enough in the World Series Cup to earn his place.
