1996 World Cup Profile:

Rameez, the younger brother of Pakistan`s prolific all-rounder Wasim Raja, made his international debut in February 1985 as a middle order batsman, but swiftly moved up the order to become the consistent opening batsman Pakistan had been looking for after the departures of Mudassar Nazar and Mohsin Khan. Rameez`s attacking style has made him the third highest rungetter for Pakistan in limited-over internationals. Rameez is very strong off his legs, and off the backfoot. After an absence from the Pakistan team from February 1993 to September 1995, Rameez has been reinstated in the Pakistan team. Along with Javed Miandad and Salim Malik, Rameez will provide the experience to support the young and talented Pakistan batting line-up.
