1996 World Cup Profile:

Hansie Cronje, the inspirational leader of the South African Squad is a talented player. Blessed with an exceptional hand eye co-ordination, Cronje is capable of flaying any attack to all corners of the field. He particularly likes hitting in the area of mid-wicket, an area dubbed by South African sportswriters as "cow-shot corner" for the particular shot he plays. He has shown his ability to dominate bowling sides on many occasions but of late his techniques is suspect against swing bowling because of lack of foot movement. Cronje is also a usefull medium pace bowler with the ability to break troublesome partnerships.
