1996 World Cup Profile:

Dubbed "The fastest white bowler in the world" Alan Donald has a reputation as an extremely fast and accurate bowler. He holds the record for the highest number of one-day wickets in the current South African ODI squad. On England`s recent tour of South Africa, Donald was once again at the forefront as a wicket taker. He has recently shortened his run up and now has a much greater measure of accuracy than before. Whereas in the past he relied solely on pace, Donald is now moving the ball through the air and off the wicket as well. Due to the nature of the conditions in the sub-continent it is expected that Donald will not have as much success as he has in the past. He is nevertheless an extremely valuable member of the South African bowling attack, and an outstanding person to have in the outfield.
