1996 World Cup Profile:

Took India by storm in 1993/94 with performance that took him to the top of the rankings among the world`s best batsmen. Is now the reserve wicket-keeper and utility player. Seems to have lost his way since and did not have an impressive series against Australia in the Caribbean nor against England. He has struggled since injury in the England tour. Has a lot to prove and his intelligent, level- headed approach will be needed to bring him out of his slump.
