Glamorgan have signed 24 year old all-rounder Alex Wharf on a three year contract.
The Bradford-born fast-medium bowler made his Yorkshire debut in 1994, before joining
Nottinghamshire in 1998, for whom he made a career best 78 against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay
in 1999.
Darren Thomas has travelled to New Zealand to join the
England 'A' squad in place of Chris Silverwood who last week joined the
main England touring party in South Africa.
Thomas was a member of the England 'A' squad which toured Zimbabwe and
South Africa last year, and he was the county`s leading wicket-taker in the
1999 first-class season, claiming 61 victims at 24 runs apiece.

Glamorgan have confirmed their provisional fixture list for 2000, which
includes a three day fixture against the West Indians, floodlit matches
at Edgbaston and Cardiff, as well as two limited overs contests at Swansea,
plus another Championship contest at Colwyn Bay
