This is an often asked question of retired sports men the world over. It is a question that often crossed my mind on many of my former team mates at Hampshire. As for me, I am back at my other home in Anguilla. Where? Anguilla, a small island 70 miles North/West of Antigua in the Leeward Islands, British West Indies...this is where I spend my days Cricket Coaching the youth of the Island and having to massage some of the beautiful people of the world and getting paid for it....hard life boys..... enough about me!! Over my playing years I have played against some of the very best all round cricketers in the game but have been even more fortunate to have had one as a team mate at Hampshire in the form of Mr. Shaun ("SHAGGY") Udal. His stats are there for all to see but what many followers of the game may not have seen or know is the man behind the stats. As a character in the dressing room he is famous for some of the natural body sounds he could make at will which would have everybody dying with laughter....!! Shaggy is a fighter on all fronts, when the team needed someone for some inspiration with bat, ball or an outstanding piece of fielding you could not look past Shaggy as the likely candidate. If a team mate needed a Personal Bodyguard ..... Shaggy would be there closely followed by Mr. Adrian ("ADI") Aymes. During my Benefit Year of 1997 .... gee that sounds sooo long ago!! Shaggy was always on hand to give support in anyway possible, Golf Days, Cricket Matches, Master of Ceremony, Auctioner you name it he did it. Shaun I thank you so much for your support not just during my Benefit Year but by being a great Team Mate and Friend. You richly deserve to be honoured with a "bumper" benefit year and I am sure the ever giving puplic at Hampshire will do you proud.
As our Angel Mr. Malcolm ("MACCO") Marshall would say....
