Pre-Season Friendly - Kent v Essex 

Today Kent complete their two day match with Essex at the St.Lawrence
Ground in Canterbury. The visitors made a formidable 242 for 4 declared
despite the inclusion of England fast-bowler Dean Headley and new overseas
player Andrew Symonds in the Kent team. In reply Kent's opening batsmen
struggled - Ed Smith, Trevor Ward, Robert Key and Alan Wells were all
dismissed by the close of play - when Kent were 89 for 4.
