Pre-Season Friendly - Kent v Essex 

Essex completed their two day match against Kent with a 17 run victory at
the St.Lawrence Ground. The visitors had declared during day 1 on 242 for
4, Kent were 89 for 4 at the close and were never really able to recover,
collapsing to 225 all out. However it was an ideal opportunity for new
overseas player Andrew Symonds to prove his worth - and this he did,
scoring a century. Following the completion of the game the two teams
organised a limited overs game.

Mark Ealham on tour with England - England v India, Fri 9 April

England lost their latest Sharjah Champions Cup match to India by 20 runs.
England were set 223 for victory but were dismissed for 202 with 2 overs
and one ball of their innings remaining. Kent's Mark Ealham took 0 for 36
from 7 overs with the ball, and with the bat scored seven before being
bowled by Prasad. The sole notable contribution to the England innings
came from Neil Fairbrother, who made 57.
