Kent Cricket News ----------------------------- www.kent.cricket.org ---------- Fri 28 Aug 1998 NORTHAMPTONSHIRE V KENT, DAY 2 OF 4 Kent 218 Northants 153-0, Northants 65 runs behind 79 from Alan Wells took Kent to a reasonable total after they had been 112 for 6 at one stage in their first innings. Further support came from Steve Marsh with 33. However the bowlers undoubtedly dominated with four wickets apiece for Rose and Taylor. Northamptonshire have had an ideal start to their innings so far. An unbeaten 54 over partnership between Bailey and Swann led them to 154 without loss at the close of play on Thursday, just 65 runs behind Kent. Kent had struggled during the first day, which was curtailed to less than 3 hours due to rain and bad light in Northampton. At one stage they were 45 for 4, but Alan Wells and Chris Walsh survived the remaining overs of the afternoon to take the visitors to 83 for 4 by the close. There is a full scorecard and newspaper report available on the CricInfo website. Play starts at 11am today, half hourly reports on BBC Radio Kent. http://www.kent.cricket.org -----------------------------------------------
