Kent Cricket News ----------------------------- www.kent.cricket.org ---------- Sun 23 Aug 1998 KENT V WORCEST'SHIRE, SUNDAY LEAGUE, CANTERBURY Worcs. 16-0, 6.5 overs - Match abandoned (rain) A deeply frustrating afternoon for players and supporters alike after rain prevented all but half an hour's play at the St.Lawrence Ground. Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bat, two wickets down when the rain came. Tom Moody was caught behind off Headley for 1, then Graeme Hick was well caught by Nigel Long off the bowling of Ben Phillips for a duck. Kent will undoubtedly have been deeply annoyed at being robbed of a game when being in such a good position - however they had to settle for two points after the rain failed to stop and the umpires were left with little choice but to call the match of shortly after twenty to six. The scorecard of the 6.5 overs of play that were possible will be available on CricInfo shortly. ----------------------------------------------- NORTHAMPTONSHIRE V KENT, SUNDAY LEAGUE SUPPORTERS' COACH GOING TO NEXT WEEK'S GAME Kent's next Sunday League game is with Northampton away next week, on Sun 30th August.
